Objectives

  • Identify risks posed by pathogenic micro-organisms.
  • Correctly Describe the main modes of transmission.
  • Correctly identify the purpose of PPE and how it should be applied and removed.
  • Identify key legislation, regulations and guidance.
  • Identify how to remove contamination with Hand Hygiene.
  • Describe the safe use and disposal of sharps.
  • Explain how Environmental cleaning contributes towards IP&C requirements.
  • Reflect on how training will impact on practice.
