Description
Bilpron 250ml Single Dose Bottle is a ready-to-use solution for intensive disinfection of dental unit waterlines, following a Biofilm Removal. Can also be used as a periodic disinfection solution. In addition, Bilpron can be used to “hold” a dental unit, preventing biofilm from forming during long-term downtime (up to 3 months).
Biofilm can rapidly form in dental unit waterlines when chairs are not in use, such as over a bank holiday. We recommend using Bilpron when chairs will not be used for over 72 hours.
This 250ml bottle is enough to either disinfect or hold a single chair.
Approved by, amongst others, Chirana-Dental, Heka Dental, Planmeca, Ritter, Dentsply Sirona, Belmont.

FAQs
Why do I need to use Bilpron when my chair isn’t in use?
One of the key factors in preventing biofilm growth in dental unit waterlines is the regular movement of water. During extended closures or breaks — when routine flushing does not occur — biofilm can begin to establish in as little as 72 hours. Using Bilpron before any period of downtime prevents biofilm from forming, protecting the integrity of your lines throughout the closure.
Can Bilpron replace a full Biofilm Removal System (BRS) kit?
No. Bilpron is a disinfectant and holding solution — it is not designed to remove established biofilm. A full BRS kit should always be completed on chairs that have not previously been maintained on the Alpron system, or on any newly installed chair.
How long can Bilpron hold a out of use dental chair?
Bilpron is effective as a holding solution for up to 3 months. After this period, the existing solution should be fully flushed and replaced with a fresh application of Bilpron. This can be repeated indefinitely for chairs in long-term storage. Bilpron is recommended for any chair that will not be in use for 72 hours or more, including bank holidays and extended closures.
How much Bilpron do I need per chair?
For the majority of dental chairs, a single 250ml bottle is sufficient to disinfect or hold one unit. Volume requirements can vary depending on the tubing length of the chair. Bilpron is available in pre-measured 250ml single-dose bottles for convenience, as well as 1 litre bottles for practices managing multiple chairs.
How do I dispose of the bottle?
The Bilpron bottle is made of HDPE and thus can be recycled. Simply rinse the inside of the bottle, remove the labels (labels must go in general waste), then dispose of the Bilpron bottle in your recycling waste stream.
